Talk to strangers

I asked myself "How can I encourage people to express themselves with those that they share physical space?"

The nine noun and six verb symbols were created to enable personal and poetic statements. The language is coded to leverage the non-traditional nature of graphic symbols and participation in "exclusive knowledge" groups. To further the reach of the language, I established three formal varieties to be displayed on clothing, everyday objects, and table top surfaces. The language is meant to be open source, allowing for user-created additions to relate to the important aspects life.

This piece of communication design was developed as part of my Master's Thesis at the Pratt Institute which focused on developing meaningful personal connections in contemporary urban life. The Glympse language was developed in collaboration with Stevenson Aung.
